How to Submit a Claim for a Missing or Damaged Issue

IMPORTANT: If your subscription is handled through an agency, please contact your agency regarding claims.

Please note the following policies before you submit a claim.

  1. U.S. and Air Service International subscribers must wait until 5 weeks after the issue cover date to submit a claim.
  2. International subscribers must wait until 8 weeks after the issue cover date to submit a claim.
  3. Subscribers must submit a claim sooner than 4 months after the issue cover date.
  4. No more than 2 issues will be replaced free of charge in a calendar year. Subscription orders placed after March 1st may contain more than 2 back issues. Shipments of more than 2 back issues cannot be claimed as missing issues.
  5. Claims will be denied if made outside of the time period allowed or if more than 2 replacement issues are requested per calendar year. To purchase a single issue go to Single Issue Order Form.

The following information is required to process your claim:

  • Journal title: The Journal of Immunology
  • Customer or member number
  • First Name MI Last Name (Individual)
  • Institution
  • Mailing address for journal delivery*
  • Missing or damaged volume and issue number(s)
  • If issue was damaged, describe damage. When damage makes an issue difficult to read, the issue may be claimed as damanged. A torn or creased cover is not considered a damaged issue.

    • *If your address has changed, please note that you are listing a new address.

    Allow 6 weeks for receipt of the replacement issue for U.S. addresses and 10 weeks for non-U.S. addresses.

    Agents: Please do not submit a claim for more than one customer in each e-mail or submit the same claim more than once in a 6-week period.

    INSTITUTIONAL OR INDIVIDUAL NON-MEMBER (PERSONAL) SUBSCRIBERS: E-mail the requested information to jisubs{at}aai.org
